Great post Theresa. I used to work as an inspector for the Virginia DEQ and one of the facilities I worked with was a coal ash landfill in Clover, VA. The scale of some of these landfills is hard to grasp. They can be enormous! I always found it interesting how much public attention these units got when in general municipal landfills seemed to cause more environmental harm. Sadly, there is a lot of groundwater contamination in Virginia.
